Fall is in the air and what a perfect time to pull out your fall colored inks and play!!! Today’s card color palette:
These are kind of fun 👆🏽… click on any of these colors and see what Stampin’ Up! has to offer! I Love all of our color options and their coordinating accessories.
For the leaves on this card I pulled out our beautiful Watercolor Paper, my water spritzer and the Fall Color ink pads along with the Vintage Leaves Stamp set and the coordinating Leaflets Framelits Dies.
Simply spritz the Watercolor Paper with water, ink up your stamp and press onto the wet surface. Every image will have it’s unique look, like every leaf of a tree. Have fun playing with this technique… you may choose to ink off, once, and use the second generation for a more subtle look. Set aside to dry or use a heat tool or hair dryer to speed up the drying process… your paper will curl up, but the drying process will flatten out your paper.
When the paper has dried, place your dies over the center of the image to cut out. Depending on how wet your paper was when you stamped, you may have lost the details of the leaf. It’s OK!!! Once you cut it out, you will see the beauty of the leaf.
I used our Multipurpose Liquid Glue (only on one side – right side on the back) of the leaves to attach them. This is the best adhesive for the Watercolor Paper, I have found.
For the ribbon on the top… I used the Natural Ribbon Trim with a gold metallic center and sponged on Cajun Craze ink. You may want to allow this to dry before you tie on. I did a bunch of ribbons and let them dry over night.
I Love the Woodland Embossing Folder for the tree back ground on the front of the card!!!
Hope you have been inspired to give the Watercolor Paper a try. I used the Very Vanilla Cardstock on the front and inside of my cards. I tried the same watercolor technique on the inside with the Crushed Curry. The Very Vanilla doesn’t distribute the color as nicely as the Watercolor Paper, but is does work. For the inside of the card, I actually used an Aqua Painter to distribute the color.
or you could just leave it plain…
Have fun Playing!
